IMPALA x GALERIES LAFAYETTE

IMPALA x GALERIES LAFAYETTE
On the occasion of Smiley’s 50th anniversary, Impala had the honor to partner with Galeries Lafayette Haussmann from February 21st to April 3rd 2022 for several activations.

During 6 weeks, Impala set up a colorful pop-up in the middle of women’s footwear area on the 4th floor of the department store where you could find roller skates, skateboards and accessories. For the occasion, Impala products were greatly highlighted throughout Smiley in-store merchandising across all shop floors, but also featured in Galeries Lafayette iconic windows. A very special place with high visibility for a skate brand in one of the biggest fashion department stores of the world.

Even more impressive, a skate ramp in the colors of the iconic Smiley brand imagined by the Artist André was set up in front of the Men’s store on Boulevard Haussmann. Open to the public and with a free access, the ramp easily became a great playground for skaters of all levels.

We teamed up with Cib Paris and Realaxe Girl Skate Crew to run a series of rollerskate and skateboarding demos on the ramp. On two different Saturdays, both Parisian girls crews came to show us how it’s done. It was a great time and we loved seeing everyone there.

We also worked closely with Galeries Lafayette to organize skateboard lessons for kids on the ramp every Wednesday, giving them the occasion to test Impala skateboards and protective gear, which made a lot of happy little skaters.

This event was a great occasion to share Impala vibes and the love for skating to a fashion audience, who discovered the brand in a very nice and positive atmosphere.
